Barnett and Dave Griffiths gained <br /> entrance to the building through the front door on Water Str.eet. <br /> Although the entire structure colild not be inspected due to <br /> isolated structural deficiencies and the state of demolition, the <br /> following was observed and in this writer' s opinion can generally <br /> be cor�sidered as being representative of the remaining building: <br /> o Numerous structural wood members of the remaining roof <br /> and isolated sections of the second floor framing were <br /> broken or collapsed due to the effects of wood decay or <br /> water damage ( See Exhibits A thru G) . <br /> o Interior wood stud walls were in various stages of <br /> demolition. <br /> o The debris from the roof demolition laid on the second <br /> floor and was piled against the walls. <br /> o The mortar in the brick walls was in reasonable <br /> condition. <br /> o The second floor framing consisted of wood joints and <br /> steel beams supported by twelve inch brick walls and <br /> steel pipe columns appeared to be in r�asonable condition <br /> except for a few isolated areas . <br /> Conclusion <br /> Based on the inspections identified above it is this writer' s <br /> opinion that in its current partially demolished condition the <br /> building is structurally adequate to resist normally expected wind <br /> or usage loads without posing a safety hazard to the surrounding <br /> environment. The remaining roof, second floor framing and interior <br /> walls provide the stiffening required to prevent partial or <br /> complete collapse of the exterior walls . <br />
