` <br /> r . ` ' . . <br /> . . � � . <br /> . , . � . <br /> . } • , <br /> , AGREEMENT <br /> This Agreement made by and between the City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal <br /> corporation ("City"), the County of Macon, Illinois, a unit of local government ("County"), and <br /> the Sherif�of the County of Macon("Sheriff'). <br />, WHEREAS, the City, through its Safety Services Department, and the Sheriff each ; <br /> enforce the applicable laws and ordinances in effect in the City of Decatur and throughout the <br /> County of Macon, respectively; and, <br /> WI�REAS, the City and the Sheriff each employ civilian, non-sworn personnel to <br /> maintain records and operate communications equipment to assist in the aforementioned law <br /> enforcement efforts; and, <br /> VVF�REAS, the County and the Sheriff are considered joint employers of those personnel <br /> employed by the Sheriff; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City, the County and the Sheriff agee that both the record-keeping and <br /> communication functions would be more efficient if each was consolidated and placed under the <br /> direction and control of either the City or the Sheriff. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the provisions hereof, the City, the <br /> County and the Sheriff agree as follows: <br /> l. The City shall establish and operate a communications center which shall perform all <br /> communication functions for both the City and the Sheriff, with equipment and technology <br /> choices and personnel matters, including staf�ing levels and compensation, to be decided by the <br /> City. <br />
