..
, ' .
Communit Develo ment
Y P
Memorandum
93-109
June 10 , 1993
i
To: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members '
From: James C. Bacon, Jr. , City Manager I
George Weaver, Acting Director of Department
of Community Development
Robert S. Reed, Mass Transit Administrator
Subject: Amended Agreement with Macon Resources, Inc.
for Lease of Buses
Since 1990, the City of Decatur has leased two 1973 GMC
coaches to Macon Resources, Inc. for transportation of its
clients. The agreement continues in effect from year to year
with either party having the right to cancel at any anniversary
date (July 1) providing that 90 day prior notice is given.
There is a possibility that there may be a reduction in
Macon Resources client load during the coming year; therefore,
the agency has requested that the leasing agreement be modified
to permit cancellation at the end of any 6-month period providing
that 60-day prior notice is given.
The leasing agreement has been beneficial to both parties.
Therefore, it is the staff' s recommendation that the amendment be
approved.
