BACON, JR. , a <br /> resident of Macon County, Illinois, hereinafter referred to as the <br /> "EMPLOYEE. " <br /> W I T N E S S E T H: <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY desires to hire the EMPLOYEE as its City <br /> Manager for the period and upon the terms and conditions <br /> hereinafter set forth; <br /> WHEREAS, the EMPLOYEE desires to serve the City as its City <br /> Manager for the same period and upon the same terms. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants <br /> herein contained, and other good and valuable consideration, the <br /> receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the <br /> parties agree as follows: <br /> SECTION ONE. Period of Employment. This Agreement shall be <br /> effective as of October 1, 1992, and for an indefinite term <br /> thereafter, pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, <br /> Section 5-3-7 ( 1991) , subject to the right of termination by the <br />, CITY, as more particularly provided for in Section 16, Paragraph A, <br /> and further subject to the right of termination by the EMPLOYEE, as <br /> contained in Section 16, Paragraph B. <br /> SECTION TWO.
