A G R E E � E N T <br /> THIS AGREEMENT made this 16th day of November, 1992, by and <br /> between the CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS, a Municipal Corporation, <br /> hereinafter referred to as the "CITY" and JAMES C. BACON, JR. , a <br /> resident of Macon County, Illinois, hereinafter referred to as <br /> the "IIKPLOYEE". <br /> W I T N E S S E T H; <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY desires to hire the EMPLOYEE as its City <br /> Manager for the period and upon the terms and conditions <br /> hereinafter set forth; <br /> WHEREAS, the EMPLOYEE desires to serve the City as its City <br /> Manager for the same period and upon the same terms. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants <br /> herein contained, and other good and valuable consideration, the <br /> receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the <br /> parties agree as follows: <br /> SECTION ONE. Period of Employment. This Agreement shall be <br /> effective as of October 1, 1992, and for an indefinite term <br /> thereafter, pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, <br /> Section 5-3-7 (1991) , subject to the right of termination by the <br /> CITY, as more particularly provided for in Section 16, Paragraph <br /> A, and further subject to the right of termination by the <br /> EMPLOYEE, as contained in Section 16, Paragraph B. <br /> SECTION TWO. EMPLOYEE's Duties. During the period of <br /> employment herein described, the EMPLOYEE shall perform the <br /> duties of City Manager as set out in the applicable statutes of <br />
