<br /> - With re2ard to a pamcipant's cognitive disab�7ity, adaptive and assistive
<br /> equipment includes selecte3 self-help ite-�s that assist paricipants to
<br /> increase their funcrional ability to perforin activiries of daily Iivin; and/or
<br /> that are necessary for participant safety. Reimbursement can be made
<br /> for the purchase and installation (where appropriate) of various items of ',
<br /> equipment, such as: '
<br /> a. Bathtub seats; !i
<br /> b. Window/Door locks; �I
<br /> c. Orientation marldngs or devic�s; and �I
<br /> d. Electronic sensor svstems.
<br /> �. Medical Su��lies
<br /> Medical supplies that are not routinely furnished in conjunction with skiIled
<br /> care and home health aide visits can be reimbursed as directly iaentifiable
<br /> charges under the demonstration. Medical supplies are dPfined as those
<br /> items which are essential to enabling health care personnei to carry out
<br /> diagnostic or therapeutic care in accordance with the demonst:ation site's
<br /> � approved plan of care.
<br /> 6. Durable Medical Eaui�ment
<br /> Durable me�ical equipment is equipment that can withstand repeated use,
<br /> is customariIy used to serve a medical purpose, and is appropriate for use
<br /> in the home.
