� � . <br /> INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT <br /> THIS AGREIIKENT is made and entered into as of the ✓�C� day <br /> of January, 1992, by and among the City of Decatur, Illinois, a <br /> unit of local government ("City") ; the County of Macon, a unit of <br /> local government; the Town of Hickory Point, a unit of local <br /> government; the Macon County Mosquito Abatement District, a unit <br /> of local government; the Board of Trustees of Community College <br /> District No. 537, Counties of Macon, Christian, DeWitt, Logan, <br /> Moultrie, Piatt, Sangamon and Shelby, and State of Illinois, a <br /> body politic; the Decatur Park District, a unit of local <br /> government; the Sanitary District of Decatur, a unit of local <br /> government; the School Directors of District No. 61, County of <br /> Macon and State of Illinois, a body politic; the School Directors <br /> of Community Unit School District No. 2, Counties of Macon and <br /> DeWitt, and State of Illinois, a body politic; the Hickory Point <br /> Fire Protection District, a unit of local government; and the <br /> Macon County Conservation District, a unit of local government <br /> (jointly or individually, the "Taxing Districts" or the "Taxing <br /> District") . <br /> WIiEREAS, the City and the other Taxing Districts, as <br /> public agencies, units of local government and/or school <br /> districts, are authorized and empowered by Article VII, Sec. <br /> 10 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois (1970) and <br /> I11.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 127, par. 741 et seq. , to enter into <br /> intergovernmental agreements for any purpose not prohibited <br /> by law; and, <br />
