Comments Regarding Comprehensive Housing Affordability
Strategy
September 16, 1991
Carolyn from the Special Ed Central Association called to
question who the CHAS was directed to. She personally was
having problems qualifying for a home as a single parent of
two children. She will direct the CHAS to Burt Biggs, the
director.
September 17, 1991
Mr. Fred Spannaus, Director of Dove, Inc. thinks that
his agency is receiving more credit than they provide. On
page 9, the CHAS states that Dove provides a 24 hour hot
line for domestic violence, and victims of rape and sexual
assault. Dove only provides a hot line for domestic
violence. Growing Strong provides a hot line for victims of
rape and sexual assault. Also it is Dove, Inc. and not
DOVE, Inc.
September 1991
Ms. Vera Chapman stated that there is an additional need for
senior citizen high rise living similar to that provided at
Spring Creek Towers located in the northwest part of the
community.
October 28, 1991
Mr. Dave Carr, Executive Director of the Decatur Housing
Authority, called to change the number of Longview Housing
units on page 30. The number listed is 418; the number
should be 386. Page 30 is the only page in the document
that the number is listed incorrectly.
The following persons requested copies of the CHAS:
Mr. Taylor
Mr. Steve Payton, Tenant's Association
Mr. Owen Balding
Mr. Charlie Jackson
Ms. Mary Meyer, Office of Mr. Bill Wilhelm
