Mr. William B. Sands October 10, 1991 Page 2
Co. , of East Peroria, in the amount of $79,880. The bid
from Capitol was $6 ,016, or 8. 1 percent greater than the low
bid.
The low bidder for the Division III work was Harshman
Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Co. , of Sullivan. That bid
was in the amount of $45,446. The second low, and only
other, bid was from Entler Excavating Co. , of Decatur. That
bid was in the amount of $46,446.
We have revised the Engineers Estimate for the work of
Divisions I and II , to consider the 10—inch pump and the
reduced pumping head and horsepower requirement , and those
dollar amounts are shown for comparison with the low bid
figures.
Enginers Estimate Harshman
Division I, pumps and drives $162, 202 $129 , 949
Division II , diesel engines 87,300 73,864
Division III, installation 33,400 45, 466
Totals $282 ,902 $249 , 279
We recommend that the award be made to Harshman
Plumbing , Heating , and Electrical Co. , in the amout of
 $249, 279.
We are very pleased with the amount, and spread , of the
bids. It is noted that the construction cost per well ,
including the well , pumps, angle drives and engines, totals
only a little over $125 ,000. The total number of we11s has
been reduced from ten to eight , and it appears that the
total costs per well will be considerably below the budgeted
amount of $150,000.
The bid documents are returned to your office herewith.
Since e y
. ...,
Joh C. uillou
