Patrol the traffic control signal system on a regular basis a.nd replsce <br /> burned out l�ps or damaged sockets as may be required. All l�ps sbould <br /> be replaced ss frequently as e.xperience proves necessary to prevent undue <br /> failures. � The reflector and lens should be cleaned 'each time a la�p is <br /> replaced. �1.1 replacemeat l�mps shall equal the �:attage and type of �he <br /> eaisting lamp. <br /> 2. Reep sigaal hea3s properly zdjusted, controller cabinets, signal posts, <br /> and controller pedestal s tight on their foundation and in alionn�ent.. <br /> 3. Reep detector equipment in proper working order. <br /> 4. Check the controllers, relays, and detectors at frequent intervals to <br /> ascertain that they are functioning properly and make all necessary <br /> :epairs and replace�ent. <br /> 5. Reep interior of controller cabinet in a neat condition at all times. � <br /> 6. �e�ove and cle�n and overhaul the controllers (�cept solid-state), <br /> rel�ys, special zuailiary control equipment, an3 time cloc'�c once a year <br /> or �ore often if necessary. When solid-state controllers nslfunction, <br /> they shall be re�oved, repaired, and bench �hec'�ed. Solid-staLe <br /> controllers shall not be re.�oved for annual �ainte�ance inspections. . _ � � I <br /> 7. Replace bu�ed out fuses. I <br /> 8. Cleaa reflectors, lenses, 2nd lamps once every siz (6) months. , <br /> 9. Repaint all signal components egposed to weather on a regular basis. <br /> 10 Repair or replace any 2nd all eqLipment danaged by any cause M�atscever. <br /> 11. Be responsible to r�ke recovery for danage to any part of the <br /> iastallation or systeas from the party causing the daa�ge. <br /> 12. Provide alternate traffic control during a period of failure or when tbe <br /> � controller mLst be disconnected. This may be accomplished through <br /> installation of a spare contioller, placing the intersection on flash, <br /> manually operati�g the controller, or manually directing traffic through <br /> the use of proper �utborities. <br /> . 13. Provide skilled naintenance personnel wiio will be available to respond <br /> without delay to e�ergency calls. This may be provided by ageacy forces, <br /> contract, or maintenance agreeaent. Controller failure, lights out, <br /> knockdowns, or t�ao (2) red lights out at aa iatersection are considered <br /> emergencies. . <br /> 14. Provide the DEPk�T!'.ENT the nanes, addresses, and telephone numbers of st <br /> lezst two persons wbo will be available for e�ergency repair of the <br /> traffic signals and deep the DEPARD�'T informed of any changes of same. <br />
