R �/-` `__L <br /> RESOLUTION AUrHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION FOR <br /> STATE OF ILLIlQOIS MASS TRANSIT OPII2ATING <br /> ASSISTANCE F'IINDS FOR FY'92 <br /> W�AS, the provision of mass transit service is essential to the <br /> transportation of persons in the urbanized area; and, <br /> Wf�IERF,AS, the City of Decatur does c�wn and operate a mass transit <br /> systen for the provision of said service; and, <br /> WHERF'.AS, the Secretary of the State of Illin�is Department of <br /> Transportation is authorized to make grants to offset certain operating <br /> expenses of a systezn praviding mass transit services; and, <br /> Wf�REAS, said grants will impose certain obligations upon the <br /> applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of the <br /> operating funds. <br /> NOGV, TF�'ORE, BE IT RESOLUED BY TI� COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECP,T[JR, II,LINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That an application be made to the Division of Public <br /> Transportation, Department of Transportation, State of Illinois, for a <br /> grant under the Dawnstate Public Transportation Act (Illinois Revised <br /> Statutes, Chapter 111 2/3, gara. 661-676) for the purpose of offsetting <br /> certain of the operating expenses of the Decatur Public Transit System. <br /> Section 2. That while participating i.n said aperating assistar�ce <br /> program the City of Decatur will provide all required local matching <br /> furr3s. <br /> Section 3. That the City Manager of the City of Decatur is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to execute and file on behalf of the City such <br /> application. <br /> Section 4.
