Sands Engineers, Inc. <br /> Director of Public Works <br /> City of Decatur <br /> One Civic Center Plaza <br /> Decatur, Illinois 62523 <br /> Re: Construction Documents for Restoration of <br /> Parking Structures "B" and "C" <br /> Dear Mr. Sands: <br /> WALKER Parking Consultants/Engineers, Inc. is pleased to submit <br /> the following proposal for preparation of construction documents <br /> for the above referenced project. <br /> Per your request and based upon our meeting, we have included a <br /> Pre-Design Phase. As we discussed the purpose of the Pre-Design <br /> Phase will be to identify and quantify concrete deterioration not <br /> identified in the previous condition appraisal of May 1989 and to <br /> update the construction cost estimate. <br /> WALKER proposes the following scope of services: <br /> Phase I - Pre-Desian <br /> 1. Conduct a visual observation of all structural elements in <br /> both parking structures including floor slabs, beams, <br /> columns, walls and exterior facade. <br /> 2 . Perform a chain drag survey of selected floor surface to <br /> determine areas of subsurface deterioration. <br /> 3 . Map and document deterioration on plan/elevation drawings. <br /> 4. Prepare estimate of probable construction cost. <br /> 5. Prepare a letter discussing concrete deterioration not <br /> identified in May 1989 and revise the construction cost <br /> estimate, as required. <br /> Phase II - Contract Documents/Specifications <br /> 1. Prepare drawings and specifications for each parking <br /> structure to implement the selected restoration program <br /> based on the recommendations of the Condition Appraisal <br /> report, the findings of the Pre-Design Phase, and <br /> discussions with you.
