R � ^ DS <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A <br /> DOWNSTATE OPERATING ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT <br /> FOR MASS TRANSIT FOR FY' 91 <br /> Contract No. 1596 <br /> OP-91-08-IL <br /> WHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation of the State of <br /> Illinois is authorized to make grants to transit systems to <br /> offset certain eligible operating expenses incurred in providing <br /> transit service; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur is a qualified applicant for <br /> such grants; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the contract for such financial assistance will <br /> impose certain obligations upon the applicant. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1 . That the Downstate Operating Assistance Agree- <br /> ment between the State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, <br /> Division of Public Transportation, and the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois, a copy of which is hereto attached and hereby made a <br /> part hereof be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> Section 2 . That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are <br /> hereby, authorized and directed to sign and attest said contract <br /> on behalf of the City and to execute such other certifications or <br /> authorizations as may be required in connection therewith. <br /> Section 3 . That the City Manager of the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois, be authorized to furnish such additional information as <br /> the State of Illinois, Department of Transportation may require <br /> in connection with the request for grant funds . <br /> PRESENTED and ADOPTED this (Q , ay ust 1990 . <br /> Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> CITY CL RK <br />
