' , '� <br /> g. Coordinate design parameters with the Sanitary District of <br /> Decatur. <br /> h. Assist the CITY in receipt of bids and in tabulation and <br /> interpretation of contractors' proposals. <br /> 2. Construction Guidance - �'urnish Guidance Services during the con- <br /> struction period generally comprised of the following: <br /> a. Consult with the CITY and with the Contractor on interpreta- <br /> tion of plans and specifications and regarding any changes <br /> under consideration as construction proceeds. <br /> b. Provide periodical job-site inspection by the Project <br /> Engineer, or his representatives, during the construction <br /> period. <br /> c. Prepare and submit all payment estimates, change orders, <br /> records, and reports required by the CITY. <br /> d. Safeguard the CITY against defects and deficiencies on the <br /> part of the contractor, but the ENGINEER does not guarantee <br /> the performance of the contract by the contractor. <br /> e. Conduct final inspection of construction and prepare final <br /> papers and reports. <br /> f. Revise contract drawings to show location and nature of <br /> improvement as actually constructed and supply one set of <br /> "as built" drawings to the CITY. <br /> g. Inspect the contractor's operations to insure compliance <br /> with the plans and specifications and the keeping of com- <br /> plete project records. <br /> h. Check all shop and working drawings. <br /> i. Review and check all reports by testing laboratories on <br /> equipment and material tested. <br /> 3. Resident Inspection - Provide detailed Resident Inspection Services, <br /> when so directed by the CITY, during construction of the proposed <br /> improvements, including but not limited to the following: <br /> a. Establish lines and grades and direct the layout of all work <br /> on the ground as construction proceeds. <br /> b. Provide continuous inspection of the work for compliance <br /> with plans and specifications. Such inspection shall <br /> include those services which are customarily referred to as <br /> detailed resident inspection services provided that the <br /> -2- <br />
