Chapter 69 <br /> around the water meter. <br /> 10. CODE APPLICATIONS - SPECIFIC. - <br /> A. New buildings of all types: <br /> (1) The 1993 edition of the National Fire Protection <br /> Association will be the accepted code for all electrical wiring <br /> installations with the exception of Article 230-70 (a) "Location <br /> of service disconnecting means. " Said Article 230-70 is hereby <br /> amended to provide as follows: <br /> "The service disconnecting means shall be installed at a <br /> readily accessible location either outside of a building or <br /> structure, or inside nearest the point of entrance of the <br /> service conductors, but not to exceed ten feet. " <br /> (2) No installation of electrical panels or wires <br /> shall be installed until buildings have an approved roof so as to <br /> provide protection from weather. <br /> (3) Whenever a new service is installed, the electric <br /> meter shall be locat�d on the outside of the building unless <br /> written approval from Illinois Power and the City Building <br /> Inspections Division is obtained. <br /> ( 4 ) Receptacles of the ground - fault <br /> circuit-interrupter type shall be located only in the immediate <br /> area where protection is required by code. Immediate area is to <br /> be defined as adjacent baths, the same room, garage, basements, <br /> one side of the outside of buildings, and where receptacles are <br /> localized, such as construction sites. <br />
