12 . To collect litter along an adopted section four (4) <br /> times a year, or as required by the director. j <br /> 13 . To require the Group coordinator to provide prior <br /> notice, as required by the director, whenever the group intends <br /> to collect litter on an adopted section; � <br /> 14 . To require Group members to properly wear any safety �i <br /> apparel provided by the City while collecting litter on an ', <br /> adopted section; I <br /> 15 . To be responsible for prohibiting members from ' <br /> possessing, consuming, or being under the influence of alcohol or I, <br /> drugs while collecting litter on an adopted section; '� <br /> 16 . To maintain a first-aid kit and an adequate supply of �, <br /> drinking water while members are collecting litter along an <br /> adopted section; <br /> 17 . To place litter in garbage bags provided by the City � <br /> and place filled garbage bags at a location on the adopted <br /> section as designated by the director; <br /> 18 . Not to subcontract or assign its duties or <br /> responsibilities to any other group or organizer; and, ' <br /> 19 . That liability insurance is not required. The Group <br /> agrees, however, to accept responsibility for the actions of its <br /> volunteers and hold harmless the City and/or the State of <br /> Illinois. <br /> The City shall: <br /> 1. Obtain approval from the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation of the specific section of right-of-way that is <br /> adopted; <br /> 2 . Erect a sign that conforms with Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation standards at each end of an adopted section with <br /> the name or acronym of the Group displayed; <br /> 3 . Provide garbage bags; <br /> 4 . Provide safety apparel and signs cautioning the public, <br /> if required; <br /> 5. Remove filled garbage bags from an adopted section as <br /> soon as practical after litter collection has occurred, and shall <br /> otherwise be responsible for removing litter from adopted <br /> sections only under unusual circumstances such as to remove <br /> large, heavy or hazardous items; <br />
