EXCERPTS FROM <br /> TRAFFIC & PARKING COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> MARCH 11, 1992 <br /> ITEM #4 Request by Safety Services for the following: <br /> A. Marietta: One-way westbound from DMCOC parking lot <br /> to Illinois Street. <br />� B. North Illinois: One-way northbound from Marietta <br /> to Condit Street. <br /> C. East Orchard Street: One-way westbound from Jasper <br /> to Illinois. <br /> D. Prohibit westbound traffic from Jasper Street from <br /> entering the first alley ndrth of Marietta. <br /> Officer Wayne �iughes, Crime Prevention, stated he has <br /> studied the Phoenix Park area and that there is a problem with <br /> cruisirig, crowd gathering, etc. He stated the requests by Safety <br /> Services were on a 90-day trial basis and they request that the <br /> changes by made permanent. IIe further stated ttie local <br /> businesses see no problem with the changes. Lutheran School <br /> informed him that parents were concerned with parking in front of <br /> houses that are unfit for human habitation, but that is the only <br /> problem that was mentioned. <br /> Judy asked if there were any traffic problems., due to the <br /> change. <br /> Chris stated tYiere were no problems and moved to accept <br /> staff's recommendation to make these changes permanent. Judy <br /> seconded the motion and it was unanimously carried. <br />
