CHAPTER 9 <br /> CIVIL RIGHTS <br /> 1 . CITY EMPLOYEES. Al1 employees of the City shall be <br /> employed on the basis of intelligence, knowledge, experience, <br /> training and ability to perform the duties of his or her <br /> particular position regardless of race, sex, color, religion, <br /> national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, familial status, <br /> physical or mental handicap or unfavorable discharge from <br /> military service, subject to the rules and regulations of the <br /> Civil Service Commission of the City of Decatur, Illinois. <br /> 2 . DISCRIMINATION. There shall be no discrimination as to <br /> working conditions or facilities of the City as to any of its <br /> employees by reason of race, sex, color, religion, national <br /> origin, ancestry, age, marital status, familial status, physical <br /> or mental handicap, or unfavorable discharge from military <br /> service. <br /> 3 . CONTRACTORS. Al1 con�ractors performing work for the <br /> City shall observe all of the requirements of the "Illinois Human <br /> Rights Act" . <br /> 4 . CITY CONTRACTS. The specifications for and provisions <br /> of every contract entered into by the City of Decatur shall <br /> provide that all provisions of the "Illinois Human Rights Act" <br /> shall be observed. <br />\ <br />
