� 1 <br /> COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> #87-87 <br /> August 25 , 1987 <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Leslie T. Al1en, City Manager <br /> RE: Ordinance Regarding Pay Plan for Management Services <br /> An ordinance revising the management pay plan has been <br /> placed on the agenda for Monday, August 31. <br /> Purpose of this revision is to provide for salary grades <br /> below Grade A which is currently the lowest grade in the plan. <br /> Grades B through E have been added to the plan to <br /> accommodate management positions assigned to lower pay grades. <br /> The new classif ication, Legal Typist I , will be assigned to <br /> Pay Grade E. <br /> Since this position will be assigned to the Legal <br /> Department , the position will be exempt from Civil Service in <br /> accordance with State law and local ordinance. <br /> This full-time position which will replace a part-time <br /> position was recommended by the Adhoc Staff Property Maintenance <br /> Committee and informally approved by the Council. <br /> Much of the time of the person assigned to this new position <br /> will be spent working on property maintenance items referred to <br /> the Legal Department . <br /> I recommend your approval of this item. <br /> Attachment <br />
