All property sur- <br /> rounding the real estate described above is zoned M-2 , <br /> Heavy Industrial District. Property across the road <br /> to the subject property on the North is vacant; property <br /> adjacent to the subject property on the West and the . <br /> South are truck terminals and a steel sales and fabri- <br /> cating plant. <br /> (d) That all legal reguirements for the bulk storage <br /> of propane for distribution would be complied with in <br /> accordance with local and state laws and regulations. <br /> (e) That the approval of and permit for the use of the , <br /> property as requested herein wil continue a similar use <br /> of the property which has been made for the past approx- <br /> imately 17 years. Such change will note be detrimental <br /> to the general public interest and purposes of the zoning <br /> ordinance of the City of Decatur, and further, such use <br /> would be of service to the residents of the City of Dec- <br /> atur. <br /> WHEREFORE, your petitioner requests that the City Council <br /> of the City of Decatur: <br /> 1. Direct a report made by the Building Insnector and <br /> the Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Decatur pur- <br /> suant to Section XVI paragraph B of the Zoning Ordinance of <br /> the City of Decatur; and <br /> 2. Approve the location of the use of bulk storage of <br /> propane upon the property described above; and <br /> 3. Direct the Building Inspector to issue a building <br /> permit for the placement of tanks upon the property for the • <br /> bulk storage of propane for distribution in accordance with <br /> local and state laws and regulations. <br /> -3- <br />
