, ., . <br /> COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> #85-89 <br /> August 26, 1985 <br /> TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Leslie T. Allen, City Manager <br /> RE: Water Agreement with Long Creek Township <br /> An ordinance authorizing the furnishing of potable water to <br /> Long Creek Township as an emergency back-up supply has been <br /> scheduled before the City Council at its September 9 , 1985 <br /> meeting. <br /> The agreement is in conformity with the Council discussion <br /> held during study session review in June. Salient provisions of <br /> the agreement include: <br /> a) Five-year agreement commencing August 15 , 1985 ; <br /> b) 200 , 000 gallon per day maximum limitation; <br /> c ) Installation expenses to be borne by the Township; <br /> d) Township will pay outside water rate (double ) ; <br /> e ) No water sales may be made outside of the Township, and <br /> service lines inside the Township in excess of 2" must <br /> receive city approval; and, <br /> f ) Restrictions placed on Decatur customers because of <br /> system problems will similarly be placed on Township <br /> customers . <br /> All the proper safeguards for the City have been <br /> incorporated into the agreement . Staff recommends approval of <br /> this emergency water supply agreement with Long Creek Township as <br /> presented. <br /> Attachment <br />
