'' j ,� <br /> PETITION FOR VACATION <br /> OF ALLEY <br /> TO: The Mayor and City Council <br /> City of Decatur, Illinois <br /> Decatur Foresight, Inc . , a corporation, (Petitioner) <br /> petitions the City of Decatur to vacate the following <br /> described 20-foot portion of the public alley in Block 15 of <br /> Al1en, McReynold' s Co. ' s addition to the City of Decatur: <br /> The west 20 feet of the east 127 feet thereof <br /> (the 20 foot strip) <br /> and states: <br /> 1. Petitioner is the owner of the land adjoining the <br /> 20-foot strip on either side. <br /> 2. In 1967, Petitioner being the owner of the adjoining <br /> land, petitioned the City Council for vacation of a portion <br /> of the a11ey in said Block 15 to permit the construction of <br /> the retail store and parking areas now occupied by Sears , <br /> Roebuck & Co. ; the matter was approved by the Plan Commission <br /> and the City Council vacated the alley over most of its <br /> length, but the 20-foot strip, through inadvertence, was <br /> not vacated at that time. <br /> 3. Petitioner believes that it was the intent of the <br /> Council in 1967 to vacate the entire portion of the alley <br /> which was adjoined on either side by Petitioner's property. <br />
