, ',,;' � <br /> during the year prior to April 30th, to be scheduled <br /> in accordance with departmental rules and regulations . <br /> Said days leave shall not be accumulated and carried over <br /> into the following year except with the approval of the <br /> City Manager or if the employee was requested to delay <br /> said days leave by the Clitef and with the approval of <br /> the City Manager. - <br /> 11-1. In the case of injury, illness or disability <br /> arising out of and in the course of employment with the <br /> City, the City will pay the difference between such <br /> employee's regular salary or wage and any payments received <br /> by the employee from a public employee pension fund or <br /> under the provisions of workmen' s compensation or occupational <br /> disease laws, or either or both, for the duration of such <br /> disability, or a period of six calendar months from the <br /> date of commencement of disability, whichever is the shorter ; <br /> period of time. Beginning the third time during a fiscal ' <br /> year that an employee in the general service absents ' <br /> himself from the job for one complete working day or <br /> two or more consecutive scheduled working days discounting <br /> any intervening earned or scheduled days off due to <br /> an on-the-jab injury, illness or disability, and on all such <br /> similar occasions until the end of the fiscal year, and <br /> any time that an employee in the police or fire services <br /> absents himself from the job due to an on-the-job injury, <br /> illness or disability, deductions shall be made from the <br /> employees accumulated sick leave credit equivalent to <br /> the number of days or portion thereof for which no payments <br /> to the employee are made or required under the <br /> provisions of public employee pension laws or workmen' s <br /> compensation or occupational disease laws, and for which the <br /> City must compensate the employee under the provisions <br /> hereof; provided that, if such injury, illness or disability <br /> causes absence from work for a period of seven consecutive <br /> scheduled work days or more, then no deduction shall be made <br /> from accumulated sick leave credit; and further provided <br /> that during an employee 's probationary period, and only <br /> during such period, should such employee suffer an on-the- <br /> job illness , injury, or disability and have no accumulated <br /> sick leave credit, such probationary employee shall be <br /> charged with sick leave days if needed under the provisions <br /> hereof, and any negative balance of accumulated sick leave <br /> days thus created will be carried forward until normal <br /> monthly accrual of sick leave days erases such negative balance. <br />
