structures , poles , wires , and appurtenances shall be installed <br /> in accordance with good engineering practices, and shall be <br /> located, erected, constructed, reconstructed, replaced, removed, <br /> repaired, maintained, and operated so as not to endanger or <br /> interfere with the lives of persons or to interfere with improve- <br /> ments the City may deem proper to make, or to unnecessarily <br /> hinder or obstruct pedestrian or vehicular traffic on public ways, <br /> places and structures. Erection, installation, construction, <br /> replacement, removal, repair, maintenance and operation of the <br /> system shall be in accordance with the applicable provisions <br /> of such laws, codes, ordinances , rules and regulations in force <br /> within the City from time to time. Al1 installations shall be <br /> of a permanent nature, durable, and maintained in a safe, <br /> suitable and substantial condition, in good order and repair. <br /> Any opening or obstruction in the streets or other public ways <br /> made by the Company in the course of the construction, operation <br /> or removal of installations shall be guarded and protected at <br /> all times by the placement of adeguate barriers, fences or <br /> boardings , the bounds of which during peri�ds of dusk and darkness <br /> shall be clearly designated by warning lights . Whenever it is <br /> necessary to shut off or interrupt services for the purpose of <br /> making repairs , adjustments or installations , the Company shall <br /> do so at such time as will cause the least amount of inconvenience <br /> to its customers, and unless such interruption is unforeseen and <br /> immediately necessary, it shall give reasonable notice thereof <br /> to its customers. <br />
