O �� <br /> ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF STREET <br /> NORTH WOODFORD STREET <br /> WHEREAS , a petition has been received from Horst H. <br /> Graesele, the owner of property abutting thereon, requesting <br /> vacation by the City Council of a portion of that certain street <br /> in the City of Decatur, Illinois, commonly known as North <br /> Woodford Street, said portion of said street being more <br /> particularly described as : <br /> Beginning at an Iron Pin at the Southwest corner <br /> of Lot 9 of No . 2 Huston Commercial Park as per plat <br /> recorded in Book 1575, page 118 of the records in the <br /> Recorder 's Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence <br /> westerly 87 .53 feet along the south line of said lot 9 <br /> extended westerly to a drill hole; thence deflecting to <br /> the Right 109° 39 ' 19" for a distance of 100 .00 feet to <br /> an Iron Pin; thence deflecting to the Left 1° 06 ' 08" <br /> for a distance of 58 .72 feet to an Iron Pin on the North <br /> line of said Lot 9 extended westerly; thence Easterly <br /> 39 . 83 feet along said north line of Lot 9 extended to <br /> an Iron Pin at the Northwest corner of said Lot 9 ; <br /> thence Southerly a recorded distance of 150 .00 feet and a <br /> measured distance of 149 .94 feet along the west line of <br /> said Lot 9 to the Iron Pin at the Place of Beginning, <br /> and all being situated in the City of Decatur, County of <br /> Macon and State of Illinois, and containing in all 0 .218 <br /> acres , more or less ; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Plan Commission held a public <br /> hearing upon said petition on February 7, 1980 , and did thereaftsr <br /> recommend to the Council that the prayer of said petition be granted <br /> and said portion of said street be vacated as requested; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said portion of said street is no longer useful to <br /> the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon <br /> as a street; and, <br /> WHEREAS , the public interest will be subserved by vacating <br /> said portion of said street and the public will be relieved from <br /> any further burden or responsibility for opening, improving or <br /> maintaining said portion of said street. <br />
