<br /> AN ORDINANCE MAKI�IG THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY
<br /> FOR THE CITY OF D CATUR FOR THE FISCAL
<br /> YEAR 979 - 1980 .
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Deca�ur, Illinois, is a home rule unit
<br /> of local government as defined by, and having the powers enumerated
<br /> in, Constitution of Illinois 1�70, Article VII, Section 6 (a) ; and,
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of t e City of Decatur, Illinois, did, on
<br /> the 23rd day of July, 1979 , pa s the annual appropriation ordinance
<br /> for the City of Decatur, for t e fiscal year beginning with the lst
<br /> day of May, 1979, and ending o the 30th day of April, 1980► in the
<br /> aggregate sum of Thirty-three illion Nine Hundred Fifty-Five Thou-
<br /> sand Four Hundred Fifty-Eight ollars ($33, 955, 458. 00) , which said
<br /> ordinance was approved on the 3rd day of July, 1979 , and published
<br /> on the 24th day of July, 1979, the objects and purposes for which
<br /> the several appropriations wer� made being sho�an by a copy of said
<br /> Annua.l Appropriation Ordinance hereto attache3 and made a part hereof.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORD INED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS:
<br /> Section l. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable
<br /> property within the corporate imits of the City of Decatur, Illinois,
<br /> as the same is taxed and equal zed for State and County purposes for
<br /> the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of biay, 1979 , and ending
<br /> o.z the 30th day of April, 1980 the sum of Three Million Seven Hundred I
<br /> Eighty-One Thousand One Hundre Thirty-six Dollars ($3,781, 136. 00) the ob-
<br /> jects and purposes for which s id sum is hereby levied and is appor-
<br /> tioned among the several object and purposes herein specified as
<br /> follows:

<br /> Reading Rooms to be known as he
<br /> Library Fund $ 1, 115,000
<br /> For Police Pensions, as requir�d by law 577, 834
<br /> For Firemen' s Pensions, as req�ired by law 875 ,721
<br /> For the purposes of Fire Prote tion in the
<br /> City of Decatur, Illinois, to pay the
<br /> salaries of 41 fire fighters 600, 000
<br /> For employment of a Municipal �and for
