The testing procedure to be followed is that which <br /> is provided for in the Recommend�d Practices on Underground Leakage <br /> Of Flammable and Combustible Liq ids promulgated and published in the <br /> National Fire Codes of the Natio al Fire Protection Association as <br /> N.F.P.A. No. 329 , 1977. Transfe of flammable liquids shall be made <br /> into such a tank only when the sa�me has been certified by said <br /> Department to have been properly and successfully tested on a date <br /> within three years of the delive of said tank from the manufacturer. <br /> No such transfer shall be made i to a tank which has been found <br /> defective and is so posted by sa'd Department. If the owner <br /> or operator of such a tank is no ified that the same is defective, <br /> said owner or operator shall wit out delay cause the tank to be <br /> voided of liquid and shall cease use and operation of the same <br /> until the same is made non-defec ive. The failure to repair a <br /> defective tank within ninety (90) days from such notification shall <br /> constitute an abandonment thereo�, and such abandoned tanks are <br /> hereby declared nuisances and ma be abated as such. <br /> 18. Permission shall be o tained from the fire official <br /> to remove, abandon, place "tempo.�arily out of service" , or <br /> otherwise dispose of any flammable or combustible liquid tank. Tanks <br /> "temporarily out of service" shall have the fuel lines, gauge opening <br /> and pump connection secured against tampering. Vent lines shall <br /> remain open and be maintained in accordance with the requirements of <br /> the Fire Prevention Code for vent lines . Any tank not used for a period <br /> of ninety (90) days shall be properly safeguarded or removed in a <br /> manner approved by the fire official. A.ny tank which has been <br /> abandoned for a period of more th n one year shall be removed from <br /> � <br />
