79-17 PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF HEATING, AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION CONTRACTORS AND CREATING A COMMISSION FOR THE SAME

�.`r ` - 3 - Section 8 . Said Commission shall, by written examination, examine each applicant as to his practical knowledge of the installation, safe construction, alteration, testing, maintenance and servicing of Heating, Air Conditioning or Refrigeration systems, of the provisions of this ordinance and of such applicable national codes and standards as may be applicable to the business and work of a Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractor. Section 9 . Each applicant shall be at least 21 years of age and be a Registered Professional Engineer, or have had not less than four years practical experience in the field of heating, air conditioning or refrigeration work, or have satisfactorily completed a course in the particular subject in a recognized school accompanied by one year of practical experience. Section 10 . License shall be issued annually for the period of October 1 through SeptemUer 30 of the next succeeding year with an annual license fee of $25 .00 , which said license fee is in addition to the ex- amination fee provided for elsewhere herein. Licenses may be annually renewed without further examination provided that application for re- newal and the payment of the annual license fee is received by the City Clerk before the lst day of November next succeeding the expiration date of the license. Section 11. Licenses provided for herein are not transferrable and shall not be loaned. Such license may be suspended or revoked by the Inspection Division by and with consent of the Commission for cause and after hearing held upon such reasonable notice to the licensee as the Commission may by rule provide. Repeated failure of a licensee to com- pZy with the provisions of this ordinance or the refusal by a licensee to comply with the provisions of this ordinance or any reasonable direc- tion of the Inspection Division shall constitute cause for revocation of license or suspension thereof. No licensee having had a license re- voked shall again be licensed except after re-examination and approval by the Commission and with the consent of the City Manager or the C ity Council . Section 12 . No partnership or corporation shall engage in the business of a Heating, Air Conditioning or Refrigeration Contractor un- less one partner in the case of a partnership or the managing agent which may be the President or some other officer thereof in the case of a corporation is duly licensed as such a contractor under the provisions ' of this ordinance and in such cases the name of the corporation or of the partnership, as the case may be, shall also be endorsed upon such �', license along with the person examined and licensed hereunder.
