..� • . ,MI�RO�ILME�1 ' ' ORDINANCE NG. �' � � ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF STREET STEVENS AVENUE WHEREAS, a petition has been received from WALTER WINTER requesting vacation by the City Council of a portion of street in the City of Decatur, Illinois, said portion of street being more particularly described as : t f N th Stevens Avenue located in All of that par o or Garland Addition to the City of Decatur, Illinois as per Plat recorded in Boox 536 on page 262 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois ; ALSO A tract of land described as : Beginning at a point on the Northeast corner of Lot Eight (8) of Garland Addition as per Plat recorded in Book 536 , page 262 of the records in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence East Sixty (60) feet to a point on the Northwest corner of Lot Nine (9) of said Garland Addition; thence North Thirty (30) feet; thence West Sixty (60) feet; thence South Thirty (30) feet to the point of beginning; as per document number 797162 recorded in Book 1506 Page 97 of the records in the Recorder ' s Office of Macon County, Illinois; and, WHEREAS , the Decatur City Plan Cor.unission held a public hearing upon said petition on February 2 , 1978 , and did thereafter recommend to the Council that the prayer of said petition be granted and said portion of street be vacated as requested; and, tiaHEREAS , said portion of street is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of nroperty abutting thereon as a street; and, WHEREAS , tk�e public in�erest will be subserved by vacating said portion of street and the public will be relieved from ar.y further burden or responsibility for opening, improving, or maintaining said portion of street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS:
