The 2016 Manhole Rehabilitation project will adhere to the prevailing wage requirements of the <br />�'i State of Illinois. Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Culy <br /> Contracting, Inc., to perform the 2016 Manhole Rehabilitation Project. <br /> Contractors for City Projects shall comply with City Code Chapter 28, Article 10, "Minority <br /> Participation Goals for Public Works Contracts." <br /> Contractors for Cit ro'ects shall make a ood faith effort to comply with the following <br /> YP J g <br /> minimum goals: <br /> l. Ten (10) percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by <br /> Minorit Business Ente rises if subcontracting opportunities are available; and, <br /> Y � <br /> 2. Eighteen (18) percent of the total hours worked should be performed by minority <br /> workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not required for a City project. Culy Contracting, Inc. will be performing all of <br /> the work for this project and will not be using any subcontractors but will adhere to the <br /> requirement that 18% of total hours worked be performed by minority workers. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: <br /> There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> SCHEDULE: The project will begin in October and is to be completed June 1, 2017. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> I Budget Impact: Funding for this project is allocated in the Sewer Fund. The recommended low <br /> f s. <br />, bid amount is $161,023.
