- 2 - <br /> Section 6 . No person shall be registered as an electrical , <br /> contractor under the provisions of this ordinance until he shall <br /> have made application therefore, shall have paid the registration <br /> fee required hereby, and except in the case of renewal of registra- <br /> tion, shall have satisfactorily passed the examination required <br /> by the provisions hereof, except that a person currently registered <br /> or licensed as an electrical contractor by a municipality in the <br /> State of Illinois wherein his principal place of business is <br /> located may be registered in this City without payment of such fee <br /> and without examination if the Electrical Commission is otherwise <br /> satisfied said person is sufficiently experienced and qualified <br /> � to meet the minimum requirements for registration under this <br /> ordinance. <br /> Section 7 . The annual registration fee for registration <br /> as an electrical contractor shall be $25 . 00. The fee for <br /> examination shall be $25. 00 for each examination. No person shall <br /> be eligible for examination unless such person shall have had not <br /> less than four years experience in electrical work. Any eligible <br /> person desiring to engage in the business of electrical contractor <br /> shall make application for registration as such to the Inspection <br /> Division upon forms prescribed and furnished by said division, which <br /> application shall be accompanied by a receipt showing payment to the <br /> Treasurer of the City of Decatur of both said annual registration <br /> fee and said examination fee. <br /> Section 8 . After making application such applicant <br /> shall present himself for examination by the Electrical Commission <br /> at a time and place determined by the Commission reasonable notice <br /> of which shall be given by the Commission to the applicant. Such <br /> examination shall be prescribed by the Electrical Commission and <br /> shall be designed to test the applicant as to his practical <br /> knowledge of the installation, alteration of electrical equipment <br /> for the utilization of electricity for light, heat or power and <br /> such applicant' s knowledge of the provisions of this ordinance, <br /> of the rules and regulations promulgated pursuant thereto and of <br /> the provisions of the National Electrical Code adopted hereby and <br /> which said examination shall be sufficiently comprehensive <br /> to thoroughly test the experience and qualifications of the applicant <br /> and shall be wholly or partly in writing with a passing grade to <br /> be determined in advance by the Commission. <br /> Section 9 . If an applicant fails the examination, the <br /> annual registration fee shall be refunded. An applicant failing <br /> examination shall not be eligible for another examination for a <br /> period of 90 days from the examination failed. <br /> Section 10 . Registration as an Electrical Contractor may <br /> be renewed upon application without examination provided that such <br /> application, accompanied by the prescribed fee of $25. 00 , is receiv�d <br /> by the Inspection Division along with suitable evidence <br />
