- 9 - <br /> side of the water meter or attached to the nearest cold water <br /> pipe with No. 4 copper wire jumper placed around the water meter <br /> long enough that the water meter can be removed without dis- <br /> connecting the jumper. The driven ground shall be a continuous <br /> length of 5/8 inch copper clad steel rod driven into the ground <br /> not less than 8 feet. The connection from the meter socket to <br /> the driven copper clad steel ground rod shall be minimum No. 4 <br /> copper wire from the neutral bar or lug in the meter socket <br /> to the driven ground rod. The copper wire shall be installed <br /> in rigid nonmetallic conduit, properly connected to the <br /> meter socket and extending into the ground not less than 6 inches <br /> below grade. The rigid nonmetallic conduit shall be supported <br /> by not less than one approved clamp to the structure. The <br /> Inspection Division may approve alternate grounding methods <br /> when such cannot practicably be done as prescribed herein. <br /> Section 28. Sufficient branch circuits shall be provided <br /> with not more tha n 9 current consuming outlets on each and no more <br /> than 1500 watts demand on No. 14 wire or 2000 watts demand on No. 12 <br /> wire, said branches originating from dead front type cabinets <br /> placed in an easily accessible and non-hazardous location with <br /> each circuit indentified and legibly labeled as to location, and <br /> which said cabinet in addition to the circuit protective devices <br /> on active circuits shall be equipped with two extra protective <br /> devices or space therefore, or with one extra such device for <br /> each five active circuits or part thereof whichever number is the <br /> greater. <br /> Section 29 . Kitchen appliance receptacles shall be <br /> supplied by not less than two 20 ampere branch circuits �hich shall <br /> have no other receptacles or outlets connected therewith. Dish- <br /> washers and disposal units shall each be supplied by separate <br /> circuits . A disposal unit circuit shall terminate at a <br /> receptacle conveniently located close to such unit within the same <br /> enclosure as said unit and the unit shall be connected to the <br /> receptacle by flexible cord of sufficient ampacity provided <br /> with a ground wire permanently attached to the disposal unit and <br /> terminating in a grounding plug at the receptacle. <br /> Section 30 . Whenever an electrical service to a building is <br /> renewed, enlarged or the location of said service is changed, <br /> or whenever any new wiring is installed in an existing building, <br /> such service and such new wiring shall conform with the code re- <br /> quirements. Existing electrical equipment, including wiring, within <br /> such building shall be inspected and that which does not conform <br /> to code requirements for that particular class of wiring shall be <br /> corrected to code requirements and standards . <br /> Section 31. When an existing residential structure is rewired, <br /> at least one wall switched ceiling or wall light and two duplex <br /> convenience receptacles, or one wall switched duplex convenience <br />
