'� b �P , - AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Decatur, Illinois , the sworn petition of HOMER E. MEARS AND OTHERS requesting that premises described as : Beq;nn;ng at the intersection of the South right of way line of the Decatur and Springfield l�ad (U. S. Route 36) and the East line of Hill Crest Blvd. extended South across the said Decatur and Springfield l�ad; said intersection located 33' at right angles to the center line of the existing ooncrete slab and 723.42' Northeasterly measured along the South right of way line of said Decatur and Springfield Road frcan the West line of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 17, T16N, R2E of the 3rd P.M. , thence South along the East line of said Hill Crest Blvd. ext�nded South 145' , thence Northeasterly parallel to the South right of way line of said Decatur and Springfield l�ad 150' , thence North parallel to the East line of Hill Crest Blvd. extenc�d South 145' to the South right of way line of said Decatur and Springfield Road, thence Southwesterly along the South right of way lin�e of said Decatur and Springfield R�ad 150' to the poi.nt of begi.�n�ng, along with all that part of any public highways within said described premises, or lying i�mnediately next and adjacent thereto, if any, be annexed to the City of Decatur, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, it is shown by affidavit that said petition is signed by all of the owners of record of said premises and by all of the electors residing therein; and, WHEREAS , said territory is contiguous to the City of Decatur, Illinois , and is not a part of any City, Village, Incorporated Town, or other Municipality; and, WHEREAS , notice of intention to take action on annexation of said territory has been given as provided by statute. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the said territory hereinabove described be, and the same is hereby, annexed to and is hereby, incorporated into the limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal corporation. Section 2. That a plat of said annexed premises is attached hereto and made a part hereof. Section 3. That the City Clerk cause certified copies of this ordinance to be respectively filed with the County Clerk and recorded by the Recorder of Deeds of Macon County, Illinois.
