/ •
T
i
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
#77 - 9
January 21, 1977
MEMO TO: Leslie T. Allen, City Manager
FROM: Charles W. Cherches, Director
Dept. of Community Development
SUBJECT: Annexation of Premises Commonly Known as 3235 W. Main
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises
has been filed with the City Clerk' s Office. Containing approxi-
mately one-half acre, the subject parcel is presently developed
with a single family dwelling. The reason for requesting annexa-
tion is to obtain City water to serve the existing dwelling.
The following data is pertinent to the subject request:
1. An existing 12 inch water main is adjacent to the premises
along West Main Street; service is readily available.
2. Existing fire hydrants in the general area are adequate
to serve this parcel.
3 . A fifteen inch interceptor sewer is adjacent to the
premises along West P4ain Street.
4. The Finance Department reports a taxable assessed valua-
tion of $10,140 which could result in approximately $102.00 of
additional annual revenue. Also, additional revenue in amounts
of approximately $45.00 and $45. 00 would become available from
motor fuel and state income taxes respectively.
5. As reported by the Corporation Counsel, the petition is
in proper legal form and ready for hearing.
The residential area north of the subject tract is presently
within the corporate limits of the City. The land along the south
side of West Main at this point has not been subdivided; there
are presently a few residential structures located on large parcels .
Inasmuch as basic municipal facilities are available to
serve the subject tract, and in view of the existing corporate
limits in this area, it is staff' s opinion that this is a logical
annexation request. Staff recommends approval of the petition
as presented.
ms
