If it is required by said Director that more than one service <br /> line or more than one meter be utilized to furnish the water service in <br /> this section provided, upon the request in writing of said owner received <br /> by said Director, the respective registrations of water furnished shown <br /> by each of said meters shall be accumulated and the payment for such <br /> water shall be computed upon the basis of the total of such accumulated <br /> registrations. The intervening of a street, alley or public easement <br /> or way between such lots or parcels of ground under single ownership shall <br /> be ignored in determining the contiguity thereof. In the event any part <br /> of such lot or parcel, or such contiguous lots or parcels, is separated <br /> into more than one ownership, the respective separate parcels shall <br /> thereafter be served by separate service lines. <br /> 7. Water meters, whether installed after the effective date hereof <br /> or in place on the effective date hereof, shall be located or relocated, <br /> at the expense of the owner of the premises served, so as to be, in the <br /> determination of the Director of the Water Department, reasonably <br /> accessible for the reading, replacement or repair thereof. Meters <br /> installed on or after the effective date hereof shall at the time of <br /> installation be equipped with a device, approved by said Director, which <br /> will permit said meter to be read without entry into the building or <br /> other enclosure wherein the meter is located, said device being known <br /> as a remote reader. Whenever the Water Department installs a remote <br /> reader in a service theretofore not equipped therewith, whether in <br /> connection with the replacement of a meter by said Department, or on a <br /> meter then in place, a charge of either $20. 00 on a single water bill, <br /> or $5. 25 on four successive water bills , at the option of said owner, <br /> shall be made and paid by the owner of the premises served.
