Furnaces, appliances and apparatus utilizing a <br /> source of energy other than electricity shall be install- <br /> ed only by licensed heating, air conditioning and refri- <br /> geration contractors, and all wiring and electrical con- <br /> nections and the Iike in connection therewith shall be <br /> done only by licensed electrical contractors. " <br /> Section 5. That said ordinance be, and the same is hereby, <br /> amended at Section 16 thereof, so that said section as so amended <br /> shall provide as follows: i <br /> "Section 16. That, pursuant to and in accordance i <br /> with the applicable provisions of statute regarding the � <br /> adoption of certain codes and other matters by reference, <br /> The Code for the Installation of Heat Producing Appli- <br /> ances, Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, Blower and <br /> Exhaust Systems, Edition 196� of the American Insurance <br /> Association are adopted by reference." <br /> Section 6. That said ordinance be, and it is hereby, amended <br /> by adding Section 20a immediately Following Section 20 thereof, said <br /> added section to provide as follows: <br /> "Section 20a. Al1 heating systems intended to supply <br /> comfort heating for areas of human habitation or occupation <br /> shall be of such size and capacity that the air temperature <br /> in said areas may be maintained at 70° F. while the outside <br /> tempexature is -10° F. All cooling systems intended to supply <br /> comfort cooling for said areas shall be of such size and capa- <br /> city that the air temperature in said areas rnay be reduced at <br /> least 18° F, below outside temperature when such outside tem- <br /> perature is 95� F. The definitions and descriptions of the <br /> words used in this section are those set out in the BOCA Basic <br /> Building Code or The One and Two Family Dwelling Code. Either <br /> or both of the requirements of this section may be modif ied or <br /> waived by the building official where unusual circumstances of <br /> use, constructi�n, location or other similar consideration rea- <br /> sonably requires. Such �aodification or waiver shall not be ef- <br /> fective unless the same is expressly stated in writing, signed <br /> by the building official and attached to the required permit. <br /> Absent such writing, the permittee represents and agrees the ap- <br /> plicable requirement, or requirements will be so met. " <br />
