a. . , � <br /> , �� <br /> � � CHAPTER 44 <br /> DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS <br /> 1. No person, firm or corporation shall demolish a building within the City <br /> without a permit so to do. <br /> 2. Application for such permit shall be ma.de to the Building Official on <br /> forms provided by the City setting out such information as the Building Official <br /> shall deem necessary or desirable to carry out the purpose and intent of this <br /> Chapter. <br /> 3. Said application shall be accompanied by a fee of $1.00 for each 100 square <br /> feet of floor area or fraction thereof for each floor of the building or buildings <br /> to which said permit applies, provided that the minimum fee shall be $10.00, and <br /> provided further, that a permit may be issued without fee if the building or build- <br /> ings are to be demolished by the owner thereof on his own property or if the demo- <br /> lition has been ordered by the Building Official or a court. <br /> 4. Before such permit is issued the applicant shall have on file with the <br /> City Clerk a certificate showing that applicant has in effect a policy of insurance <br /> insuring applicant for liability from personal injury or property damage with <br /> limits not less than $100,000 for injury to one person and $300,000 for injury to <br /> any number of persons in one occurence and $50,000 for damage to property. Such <br /> policy of insurance may include a deductible not to exceed $100. Said certificate <br /> shall expressly provide that the policy to which it relates may not be modified <br /> or cancelled unless or until 10 days written notice has been received by the City <br /> Clerk. The provisions of this section may be waived by the Building Official by <br /> endorsement on the face of the permit if the building to be demolished does not <br /> exceed one story and the same is situated at least ten feet from any other building <br /> and from any public way, or if said building does not exceed two stories and is <br /> situated at least twenty-five feet from any other building and from any public way. <br /> 5. If the demolition, by reason of the size, condition, location of the <br /> building or buildings, or other consideration, in the reasonable judgement of <br /> the Building Official appears to present a possible interference with or risk to <br /> persons or property proximate thereto, the Building Official may require applicant <br /> to submit in writing, or other graphic form, plans for the protection of such <br /> persons or property showing such procedures or measures as the Building Official <br /> may deem reasonably adequate to lessen such interference or risk. The permittee <br /> shall implement and adhere to said plans during the course of the demolition. <br /> 6. The person, firm or corporation to whom a permit is issued shall: <br /> a. Cause the demolition to commence promptly within a reasonable time <br /> not to exceed 30 days af ter the permit is issued. <br /> b. Cause the demolition to proceed continuously during customary working <br /> hours until completion. <br /> EXHIBIT A <br />
