f, . , . � r . � .. - ORDINANCE N0 . � AN ORDINANCE VACATING AL�EY -- BLOCK 2 OF OAKLAND PLACE WHEREAS , a petition has been received from the owners of all property abutting thereon requesting the vacation by the City Council of that portion of a certain alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois , described as : Commencing at the Northeast Corner of Lot 16 in Block 2 of Oakland Place, an Addition to the City of Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book 149, Page 15 of the Records in the Recorder's Office of NTacon County, Illinois , thence Westerly along the North lot lines of Lots 16 through 8 in Block 2 of said subdivision to the East right-of-way line of the Wabash Railway Company, thence Northeasterly along said East right-of-way line to a point 26.25 feet West of the Southwest Corner of Lot 7 in B1.Qck 2 of said subdivision, thence Easterly along the South lot lines of Lots 7 through 3 in said Block 2 of said subdivision to the Southeast Corner of said Lot 3 , thence Southerl 16 feet to the oint of Y P beginning. WHEREAS , said petition was referred to, and a public hearing thereon was held by, the Decatur City Plan Commission, which said Commission did recommend that the prayer of said petition be granted and said portion of said alley be vacated; and WHEREAS, said portion of alley is no longer useful to the � public or to the city or to the owners of property abutting thereon as an alley; and WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of alley and the public will be relieved from the further burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : Section l . That the report and recommendation of the � Decatur City Plan Commission be received, placed on file and approved. '
