S_� <br /> AN ORDINANGfi REGARDING PERSONNEL RULfiS, <br /> BENEFITS AND REM[JNERATION FOR EMPLOYEES <br /> IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COi[JJNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR� <br /> ILLINOIS; <br /> Section 1. That the provisions of this ordinance shall <br /> apply to those positions in the classified service of the City of <br /> Decatur, Illinois, set out in the schedule marked Exhibit 1 hereto <br /> attached and hereby made a part hereof, which said positions are, <br /> until the further order oP the Council, respectively assigned to <br /> the pay grades or ranges designated for each as shown in said Bx- <br /> hibit 1. <br /> Section 2. That until the further order of the Council, <br /> employees appointed to and serving in th�e positions set out in <br /> the schedule marked Exhibit 1 shall be paid in regular weekly or <br /> bi-weekly installments as the case �ay be in accordance with pay- <br /> rolls submitted to and allowed by the Council, the hourly rate or <br /> the annual salary or wage as the case may be shown foY the respec- <br /> tive grade or range in the schedule marked Bxhibit 2 hereto attached <br /> and heYeby made a part hereof at such step in grade or range that <br /> each respective employee is eligible for and assigned to in accord- <br /> ance with applicable rules and procedures and having continuous ser- <br /> vice not less than the following: Step A, entry into grade; Step B, <br /> 6 months in grade; Step C, 1 year in grade; Step D, 2 years in grade; <br /> Step E, 3 years in grade; Step F, 4 years in grade. <br /> Section 3. That advancement from a lower to a higher step <br /> shall be made not �ore than once in any 6 month period as to Steps <br /> A to B and B to C, and not more than once annually as to all other <br /> steps. <br /> Section 4. An employee after being ceYtified for ap�oint- <br /> ment by the Civil Service Commission and appointed to another classi- <br /> fied position having a pay grade or range higher than the former posi- <br /> tion of such employee shall advance to the lowest step of the new pay <br /> grade or to the step in the new gYade with the rate next above the <br /> rate of pay of such employee immediately before appointment, whichever <br /> rate of pay is higher. <br />
