That where it is found by him to be in the <br /> best interest of the public service and the interest of better <br /> conduct of the public service, the City Manager may, upon initial <br /> appointment or otherwise, assign a particular employee to a step <br /> in grade higher than that provided herein. <br /> Section 6. That a full time employee in a classified po- <br /> sition set out in the hourly schedules of Exhibit 1 shall be paid <br /> one an d one-half times the applicable hourly rate of pay of said em- <br /> ployee for all authorized duty in excess of 40 hours in any one week. <br /> Section 7. That a full time employee in a classified posi- <br /> tion set out in the other than hourly schedules of Bxhibit l, other <br /> than those positions designated by th e City Manager as Division Heads, <br /> shall be the applicable hourly rate of pay of said employee for all <br /> authorized duty in excess of 40 hours in any one week. <br /> Section 8. Temporary, seasonal and part time employees as <br /> defined in the Civil Service Commission Rules shall be compensated <br /> as set out in the exhibits hereto attached, shall receive only the <br /> salary or wage provided in this section and shall not be entitled to <br /> or be credited with vacation time or pay, holidays, sick leave, or <br /> other employee benefits. <br /> Section 9. That the prov isio ns of Ordinance No. 5294, <br /> passed May 4, 19'70, entitled "An Ordinance Fixing Salaries and Wages <br /> of City Employees"; and the provisions of su b-section (a) of Section <br /> 4, and the provisions of Section 8 of Ordinance No. 5308, passed <br /> June 1, 1970, entitled "An Ordinan ce Regarding Personnel Rules, Bene- <br /> fits and Remuneration", insofar as the same apply to employees in po- <br /> sitions set out in Exhibit 1 hereto attached be, and th e same are <br /> hereby, repealed. <br /> Section 10. That the provisions of the exhibit attached <br /> to and made a part of Ordinance No. 3514 adopted February 8, 1960, <br /> entitled "An Ordinance Setting Up Personnel Rules ior the Employees <br /> of the City" and at Section 5.11 of Rule 5 thereof be, and the same <br />
