, , �•, Detailed Paragraph 6 - During the period of performance of sub-surface Resident explorations and also of construction of said improvements, the Inspection Engineer shall furnish detailed resident inspection services accept- able to the City. Such resident inspection shall contemplate the furnish- ing of a full-time resident engineer inspector (or inspectors, as necessary; for the period of active construction of the project. Such resider�t engineer inspector shall provide those services which are customarily referred to as detailed resident engineering inspection services. The compensation due the Engineer for furnishing the detailed �esident inspection services required under the provisions of this Paragraph shall be Three Percent (3%) of �he totat construction costs of the improvements. Compensation for the services rendered under the provisions of this Paragraph shall be due and payable to the Engineer from time to time during the progress of construction of said improvements and in amounts proportional to the value of the work performed in the construction of said Project. Final payment for services rendered under the provisions of this Paragraph shall be due and payable upon the completion of said improvements. Special Paragraph 7 - Property, boundary or right-of-way acquisition Engineering surveys and/or descriptions and services pertinent to special assess- Services ment and court preceedings shall be considered special services and will be furnished by the City. Provided however, if necessary to the proper conduct of the said improvements, the City may elect to instruct the Engineer to provide the special services outlined herein. When instructed by the City to furnish such speiial services, the compensation due the Engineer for services rendered under the provisions of this Paragraph shall be actual cost plus One Hundred Percent (100'/) for overhead and profit, plus "outside expense" at net cost. The term "outside expense" shall include transportation and subsistenceincurred by the Engineer or his assistants traveling in discharge of duties connected with the work, and shall include the net cost of incidental expenses such as telegrams, telephone toll charges, extra productions of prints or photos of drawings, specifica- tions and other documents required for the proper execution of the service to be rendered. Compensation earned under the provisions of this Paragraph shall be paid quarterly upon submission by the Engineer of invoices detailing the cost and expenses incurred.
