•f• �' ' V 4 ORDINANCE NO. ��S A1V ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE ILLINOIS STATE PLUI�ING CODE AND ESTABLISHING MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR CERTAIN INSTALLATIONS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. This ordinance shall be known, and may be cited as, the Decatur Plumbing Ordinance. Section 2. Pursuant to the provisions of the Illi.nois Plumbing � Code Law and with the applicable provisions of statute with regard to adoption of certain codes and other matters by reference the Illinois � State Plumbing Code is hereby adopted and made a part of this ordinance as if the same were fully set out herein. Section 3. This ordinance and said code shall be administered within the jurisdiction of the City of Decatur, Illinois, by the Inspec- tion Division of said City which Division includes the office of the Chief Building Inspector and Chief Plumbing Inspector and which is de- signated and defined as the Administrative Authority. Section 4. Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, all 1 words, terms and designations used in this ordinance insofar as the same are therein defined shall have the meanings ascribed to them in and by said Illinois State Plumbing Code . Section 5. No person, firm or corporation shall engage in plumbing in the City of Decatur, Illinois, except in compliance with the provisions of the applicable acts and laws of the State of Illinois, the Illinois State Plumbin.g Code and this ordinance and the rules and regulations from time to time promulgated or adopted thereunder . Section 6. No person, firm or corporatio n shall make any connection to the City sewer or water system or make any excavation in any street or alley for such purpose unless there is on file with the City Clerk and in full force and effect a good and sufficient bond obligating such person, firm or corporation to the City of Decatur in the amount of $10,000.00, with corporate surety, conditioned upon the faithful observance of all re- quirements of the ordinances of the City applicable to the making or main- taining of such connections or regulatin g plumbing within the City and to indemnify, save and keep harmless the City from any loss, cost, damage, ex- pense or liability of any kind whatsoever gro wing out of, connected with or by reason of anything done by said person, firm or co rporation in and about or in connection with the making or maintaining of such connections either by reason of negligence or otherwise and including, but not limited to, the actual vu�rk thereof and the making of any excavation or openings in any street, alley or public way, in the maintaining of or failure to maintain ,
