. � � , �� '� ,�r . ORDINANCE NO. �-�S �� AN ORDINANCE MAKING THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR TgiE CITY OF DECATUR FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1971 - 1972. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois, did, on the 26th day of July, 1971, pass the annual appropriation ordi- nance for the City of Decatur, for the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of May, 1971, and endin g on the 30th day of April, 1972 , in the aggregate sum of TWENTY MILLION FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY TWO THOU- SAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY EIGHT AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($20,452, 178.00), which said ordinance was approved on the 26th day of July, 1971, an d published on the 27th day of July, 19�1, the objects and purposes for which the several appropriations were made being shown by a copy of said Annual Appropriation Ordinance hereto attached and made a part hereof. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1 . That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property within th e corporate limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, as the same is taxed and equaliaed for State and County purposes for the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of May, 1971, and ending on the 30th day of April, 1972, the sum of ONE MILLION, NINE HUNDRED SEVEPVTY EIGHT THOUSAND TW�O HUNDRED NINETY THREE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,978,293.00) , the objects and purposes for which said sum is hereby levied and is apportioned among the several objects and purposes herein specified as follows: For the Maintenance of Public Library and Reading Rooms to be known as the Library Hl.ind $ 450,000.00 For Police Pensions, as required by law $ 240,463.00 For Firemen's Pensions, as required by law $ 386,293.00 For the Purposes of Fire Protection in the City of Decatur, Illinois, to pay the salaries of 41 fire fighters $ 245,955.00
