' � � AGREEMENT <br /> FOR TOPICS PROJECT T-5169(3) . <br /> This agreement, entered into this ` �� day of � `�� , <br /> -� <br /> A.D. 1971 , by and between the STATE OF ILLINOIS, acting by anc�` hrough its <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND BUILDINGS, hereinafter called the STATE, and <br /> �the City of Decatur of the State of Illinois, hereinafter called the CITY. <br /> I ' WITNESSETH: r <br /> WHEREAS, the STATE, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic <br /> and insure safety to the motoring pubTic, is desirous of improving approxi- <br /> . <br /> matety 754.5 feet of Wood Street (Primary Type II System) (City Project <br /> 2-]'lj from the east curb line of Main Street to the west curb tine of Frank- <br /> lin Street which includes: (1) widening the existing pavement of Wood Street <br /> to provide traffic lanes of 12 foot, 11.5 foot, T1.5 foot, 12 foot and an <br /> 11 foot left turn lane at the east approach to Main Street, the east and <br /> west approaches to Water Street a�d the west approach to Franklin Street; <br /> (2) modernizing the traffic sigrlals at the intersections of Main Street, <br /> Water Street, and FrankTin Street with Wood Street; (3) resurfacing Wood ' <br /> Street throughout the limits of this improvement; and (4) constructing curb <br /> and gutters and by performing all other work necessary to comptete the im- <br /> provement in accordance with the approved plans and specifications; and, <br /> ' WHEREAS, the CtTY is desirous of said improvement in that same wilt <br /> be of irnmediate benefit to the. CITY residents and permanent in nature; <br /> NOW, TNEREFORE, in consideratio��of the mutual covenants �ontained � <br /> herein, the parties hereto agree as fallows: <br /> 1. The STATE agrees to receive bids and upon approval by the CITY - <br /> and the Federal Highway Administration, award the contract. <br /> 2. The STATE agrees to pay all construction costs, subject to re- <br /> imbursement by the CITY as hereinafter stipulated. � <br /> . ��� � , <br />
