� � .. . t than fifteen (15) days prior to the date of said election, which said notice did specify the places where such election was to be held, the time of opening and closing of the polls and the question to be voted upon; and WHEREAS thA Council of said City by proper proceedings adopted and spread upon its records, found that all le�al require- ments in connection with said election were duly complied with and that a ma�ority of the electors of said City voting at said election on said question above referred to, voted in favor thereof; and WHEREAS it is necessary and for the best interests of the City that said sum of $795,000 be borrowed at this time and in evidence thereof bonds in the amount of $795,000 be issued, such bonds to be the total amount of bonds authorized at said election held on April 20, 1971, and it is for the best interests of the City that the bonds now proposed to be issued be dated as of June 1, 1971, be numbered consecutively beginning with number l, be of the denom- ination of $5,000 each, and that said bonds mature serially and bear interest at the rates and payable on the dates as hereinafter provided for: NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the Council of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, as follows; Section 1. That it is hereby found and determined that all of the action referred to in the preamble of this ordinance has been properly taken as referred to and set forth in said preamble and that the Council of the City of Decatur has been authorized by a ma�ority of the electors of said City voting on the question at the special election referred to in the preamble hereof, duly called, noticed, held and canvassed for that purpose, to issue bonds of said City in the amount of $795,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of purchasing the site and building located at 2�7 Ea,st North Street, -3-
