. � �%��✓ .� • .� ,�� , � ,. � . . ;,/�� /�� , , � , ,,. / AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF DECA TUR, MACON COUNTY, ILLINOIS, OF THE QUESTION OF ISSUING $795,000 PUBLIC LIBRARY BONDS AT A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN AND FOR SAID CZTY ON THE 20TH DAY OF APRIL, 1971. � � � WHEREAS for many years a free public library has been maintained and operated in and for the City of Decatur, Macon County, Tllinois, under the direction of a duly appointed and qualified Board of Library Directors and annually, taxes have been duly levied and extended against all taxable property within the City for the purpose of maintaining and operating said public library; and WHEREAS the Board of Directors of the public library of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, has by proper proceedings heretofore determined that it is desirable and in the best interests of the inhabitants of the City that the City purchase the site and building located at 2�-7 East North Street, Decatur, Illinois, to be used as a free public library, and said Board of Directors has heretofore submitted to the Council of the Ci�y of Decatur, plans and an estimate of the cost of purchasing said site and building to be used as a free public library; and WHEREAS the said Board of Directors of the public library of the City af Decatur� has estimated the cost of purchasing sazd site and building to be used as a free public library to be Seven Hundred Ninety-five Thousand Dollars ($795,000) 9 and WHEREAS the Council has heretofore approved the said plans for purchasing said site and building to be used as a free public library, and the estimated cost thereof, as said plans and estimate of cost were heretofore submitted to this Council by said Board of Library Directors; and
