5447 ESTABLISHING MINIMUM MAINTENANCE, CONDITION AND OCCUPANCY STANDARDS FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURES AND PREMISES AND PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT THEREOF

- 11 - 5ection 20. If by reason of decay, structural deficiency or gross failure to comply with the provisions of this and other applicable ordinances of the City, the Hou�ing Specialist determines that a stsucture or preni�es is so unsafe or unsanitary, or both, as to be a haaard to the health, safety or welfare of the public or ' of any occupent the reof, he may give �tice in the manne r provided in this ordinance which notice shall require that the owner, and the occupant thexeof if any, appear before him at a certain time, da and lace to show cause wh such structure or remises should not Y P Y P be declared unfit Por occupancy or continued occupancy. Section 21. If at the appointed time, and after hearing that which may be produced with regard thereto, reasonable grounds have not been shown �uhy said structure or premise should not be so declared, then the Housing Specialist may cause notice to be given to said owner, and �aid structure or pre�aise posted with an appropriate sign, that the same is unfit for human use, which notice shall re- quire the owner thereof to within 30 days repair ar improve said �truct- ure so that the saiae complies with this ordinance and all other applicable ordinances of the City, or to within said time cause the same to be demolished, or injunctive r¢lief sought. Section 22. The requirement of any proVision of this ordinance that service of notice be made upon an owner, in the event such owner, or his address cannot reasonably be found or ascertained, may be met by serving such notice upon the person in whose name general real estate taxes were last billed.
