' ' CHAPTER 64 � WATER SERVICE � � . . � 1. 4Jater service shall be furnished by the City �only in compliance �' with, and subject to, the provisions of this chapter and other provisions of the City Code or ordinances of the City_ applicable to such service and then only upon application for the same nade to the tAater Department by the ocvner, or the duly authorized agent of, the o�vner of the premises to be served. Such application shall be made upon fo r.ns approved by the Director of the [Vater I�partnent and the Director of Financa . 2. The ourner of the premises to be served shall be responsible for the payment of all charges for c�rat2r services tnereto and said owner, and the person or entity in possession of the premises if other than the o�e.zer, shall accep�, and abide by all of the provisions of this code or of other ordinances of the City apglicable to �vater service. . � 3. Water service for newly constructed buildings shall be furnished only upon the order of the Director of the Water D2partment and said Direc- tor shall autnorize said service only after such building has been s!:o�vn to have been constructed in accordance with the applicab�e provisions of the construction and mecnanical codes of the City under .the applicable permits and inspections as provided thereby. 4. �he City sliall not be liable for or on account of the interruption, for any reasons cv�atsoever, of watez service to any water user or othe r per- son or entity, and the officers or employees of the City shall not be liable for or on account of the interruption, for any reasons ��hatsoever, of cvater service to any such user or other person or entit�, e�ccept for the intention- al or urilful misconduct of such officer or sucii employee. S. tv'ater furnished from the water system of the City shall be measured by meters testec� and approved by the tJater Departr�ent and fuxnished by tl�e water user. Such meters shall be installed or removed at the expense of the water us�r. h;eter repairs shall be made only by the t�lat�r Department. The water user snall be responsible for the delivery to the I�Jate� I?2Partment of meters to be repaired and shall lie responsible for obtaining and re-install- ' ing repaired r.�ters. The Water D�partment may cnarge the meter o�vner for tne cost of material used in the repair- of such meters. The Water IMpartment may from time to tine request that a meter be delzvered to it fo r testing and in- :: spection. The meter owner shall cause such n�ter to be e�elivered to the Plater � Department ��rithin ten (10) days after the issuance of such request by the De- _ partnent and shall thereafter obtain sai�3 meter from the Department and cause the same to be r�-installed wzthin ten (10) days after notice is issued b,t the Department that said r,�ter Y�as been tested, inspected and, if necessary, re- paired and is available �o be re-installed.
