A water service Iine shall consist of the necessary tap, pipe, stop <br />, boxes, stop cocks, hydrants, meter, fixtures and appurtenances betti�:een the <br /> City water r�ain and the discharge side of the �vater meter. The water se.rvice <br /> \� Iine shall be originally supplied by, and kept in repa�ir by, the otvner of the <br /> ' property sexvEd thereby. Not more than one lot or parcel of ground snall be <br /> served by each sarvice Iine, except as provided else:vzere herein, and whenever <br />, a lot or parcei of ground being served by a service Zine is divided into se- <br />' parate ownership, cvater service after such division shall be provided by a se- <br /> parate service line for each of tne res�ective parts the-reof. Where t���o or <br /> more single farsily residence buildings or two family residence buildings having <br /> water s�rvice or" the domestic classification are Iocated on one lot or parcel <br /> of ground a sep�rate water service line shall be provided for each such build- <br /> ing 6vhetner th� same are or,vned py one person or ent ity or otnerwise . <br /> 7. Water service classified as n�a-domestic service may be supplied <br /> through a single service Iine to t��o or more buildings situated on one lot or <br /> parcel of ground or on contiguous lots or parcels of ground under single owner- <br /> ship with the consent in �vriting of the Director of the t�ater Department and <br /> the water furnisned thereto may be measured by a sinsle meter . If it is requir- <br /> ed by said Director that more tnan one service line or more than one meter be <br /> utilized to furnish the �vater service in this section provided, upon the request <br /> in writina of said o�vrer received by said Director, the re spective registrations <br /> or water furnis:zed sho��:n by each of said neters shall be accumulatec� and the pay- <br /> ment for such �vater shall be computed upon the basis of the total of such accu- <br /> mulated registrations. The intervening oi a street, alley or public easemont <br /> or way bet��;een such�� lots or parcels of ground unc�er single o�vnership shall � <br /> ignored in determining tne contiguity thereof. In the ever.t any paxt oi such <br /> lot or parcel, or such contiguous Iots or parcels, is separated into more than <br /> one o�vnership, the respective separate parcels sha11 thereafter be sexveci by <br /> separate service Iines. <br /> 8. P+12ters installed for the purpose of ineasaring the amount of wat2r fur- <br /> nisned fron the water systFm of the City which are in place on or before the <br /> efiective date hereo; shall be Iocated so as to be reasonably accessible for tiie <br /> reading thereof. If the Director of the �,vater �part��nt determir,es any such <br /> meter is not so installed as to be reasonably acc�ssible for said purp ose, he <br /> may direct the relocation of sucn meter to a place ivhere tne same is so access- <br /> ible by a notice in writing addressed to th2 person or entity in whose name tlie <br /> service is registered and at the address of the premises served. The meter shal2 <br /> be relocated �vithin fifteen (15) days of the d�te of such notice . On and after <br /> r the effective date hereoi, meters installed for the purpose of ineasuring the <br />, amount of water furnished from tti� �vater system of the City shall be equipped <br /> with a device approved by the Director of the Water Department wizich shall per- <br /> mit said meter to be read cvithout entry into the builc�ing or other enclostzre in <br /> which said meter is located. The register face of said device shall b� so plac- <br /> ed and maintain�d as to b� easily accessible to a meter reader at aIl reasonable <br /> times. The location o.E said re�ister face may be prescribed by the Director of <br /> the Water L�partme nt. <br />
