That, unless otherwise specifically provided <br /> elsewhere herein, the provisinns of this ordinance are effective <br /> and applicable commencing the lst day of May, 1970, until the <br /> further order of the Council. <br /> Section 2. Group medical, major medical and hospitaliza- <br /> tion insurance and group life insurance of $2,000.00 for each <br /> employee shall be provided by the City. Voluntary participation <br /> in group medical, major medical and hospitalization insuxance on <br /> behalf of dependents of employees shall be ma.de available by the <br /> City the cost of which shall be paid by those employees electing <br /> to subscribe for the same through payroll deductions of the pre- <br /> mium from time to time applicable thereto. <br /> Section 3. That dnring the continuous service of a full- <br /> time employee in the classified service uninterrupted by resigna- <br /> tion or discharge there shall accYue to each such employee sick <br /> leave at the rate of one day per month as to employees other than <br /> those classified in the fire fighting service, and 1.4 days per <br /> month as to such employees in said fire fighting service, up to a <br /> maximum accumulation of 135 days, such leave being the same as that <br /> defined, limited, conditioned and the use thereof specified else- <br /> where by oYdinance. <br /> Section 4. That subject to the rules and conditions else- <br /> where provided by ordinance, the length of annual vacations for <br /> full time employees in classified service shall be as f ollows: <br /> (a) After completion of six months continuous service un- <br /> interrupted by resignation or discharge, one week. <br /> (b) After completion of one year continuous service un- <br /> interrupted by resignation or discharge, two weeks. <br /> (c) After completion of nine years continuous service un- <br /> interrupted by resignation or discharge, three weeks. <br /> (d) After completion of sixteen years continuous service <br /> uninterrapted by resignation or discharge, four weeks. <br /> i <br />
